Prince of Persia: The Movie
It was reported in Variety Magazine back in March 2004 that the Prince of Persia: Sands of Time video game was going to be made into a movie.
Little is known about this movie project even though more than a year has passed since its announcement. What is known is that the movie will be produced by John August, Jerry Bruckheimer, Chad Oman and Mike Stenton, and Walt Disney Pictures will be distributing the movie.
The script will be written by Jordan Mechner, the creator of Prince of Persia, and supervised by John August.
I’m excited and skeptical about this movie. There is great potential to make a truly great action movie from the Prince of Persia: Sands of Time video game, but all too often, Hollywood manages to botch up the transition of a video game to the big screen.
The two biggest disappointments that comes to mind are Resident Evil and Tomb Raider, I must be the only person who thought Angelina Jolie made a terrible Lara Croft.
There’s also hot debate on the forums as to who should be cast as the role of the Prince. Names that have been thrown around forums include famous actors such as Orlando Bloom and Johnny Depp, to the lesser known Oded Fehr and John Abraham.

If u have seen the trailer you would already know how bad they butchered the prince. Prince dastan is a serious badass, but in the trailor he is making jokes and shit. Im sorry but i cant take Jake Gyllenhaal(plays the prince) serious as the prince he just doesnt look intimidating to me or like a serious badass. He looks like a rich panzy boy. Im goiing to see this movie when it comes out and i hope the prince doesnt ruin the movie for me. If you dnt agree with me plz tell me why, dnt just call me an idiot or morron explain to me why u disagree.

Has anyone noticed that the game Prince has blue eyes and looks nothing like a Persian? Does anyone remember a movie called “Lawrence of Arabia” that had a Brit playing an Arabian and still managed to win eight oscars? As far as I’m concerned, Jake has the body, the face and blue eyes very similar to your famous game prince. Jordan Mechner was pleased with him and the fact that Disney could make his stories bigger and better with the benefits of Hollywood. So let’s all take a big breath until May and see the results, shall we?

I’m fan of prince of persia games. the idea of making a movie out of the fantastic games is fabulous but will the movie be great as the game??? how far can science and technology help in this movie?? My view is, they won’t be able to make the real prince of persia movie which is the game itself.

I’m from persia too & I think that making Prince of persia’s movie is great but not sands of time! they could make the two thrones or the new prince of persia movie & with a very good actor!
