Prince of Persia: The Movie
It was reported in Variety Magazine back in March 2004 that the Prince of Persia: Sands of Time video game was going to be made into a movie.
Little is known about this movie project even though more than a year has passed since its announcement. What is known is that the movie will be produced by John August, Jerry Bruckheimer, Chad Oman and Mike Stenton, and Walt Disney Pictures will be distributing the movie.
The script will be written by Jordan Mechner, the creator of Prince of Persia, and supervised by John August.
I’m excited and skeptical about this movie. There is great potential to make a truly great action movie from the Prince of Persia: Sands of Time video game, but all too often, Hollywood manages to botch up the transition of a video game to the big screen.
The two biggest disappointments that comes to mind are Resident Evil and Tomb Raider, I must be the only person who thought Angelina Jolie made a terrible Lara Croft.
There’s also hot debate on the forums as to who should be cast as the role of the Prince. Names that have been thrown around forums include famous actors such as Orlando Bloom and Johnny Depp, to the lesser known Oded Fehr and John Abraham.

I think Mark Dacascos should play the role. He has the look and martial art skills.

its fabulas to making a movie like prince of persia.the movie will b more tremendous if the prince have the similler looks with the game.so i thenk CM PUNK and JOHN ABRAHAM could be the best prince of persia because they both have similler looks,hair, face cutting and figure with the prince

I think John Abraham is the best choice for the prince..he’s even half persian!!!Kayvon(Perisan Model), Bahram Radan,Hessam Navab safavi,Reza Golzar…and many more perisan actors who r really good looking and fit the role have to be considered too!!!!!!!!!

What you need to do is have the actor be an martial arts expert and know at least some acrobatics. He also needs to have shoulder length dark hair and can capture women with his goodlooks.

I think that John Abraham should be the prince of persia than Orlando Bloom because John has better looks and good acting than Orlando!!!!!!!!!

Why are Bloom or Gyllenhaal even mentioned? meh. Too well-known. The role needs an up an coming actor. Fehr it’s a great choice. I’m pulling for him but he may be a little on the older side esp. for an installment series. Hedlund actually wouldn’t be bad call. His version of Murtagh plus a tan is pretty damn close to looking the part. But he doesn’t look like the actor who would want to be in a Disney series.

If Oded Fehr does not get the part over John Abraham in Sands of Time Oded Fehr should in Warrior Within because he looks closer to the prince in all aspects.

Everyone get your head out of your asses because Oded Fehr should play the lead for prince of persia! For all of you who dont know who that is he is Carlos in the resident evil’s. Here is why!
The leading role in Prince of Persia: Sands of
Time (AKA PoP:SoT) should be Oded Fehr. He has played
many supporting characters including Ardeth Bay in The
Mummy and The Mummy Retrun along with Carlos Olivera
in Resident Evil: Apocalypse and Resident Evil:
Extinction. Many of us believe it is his turn for a
leading role. He would fit the prince of persia
character better than the alleged Orlando Bloom. Oded
Fehr is everyone’s favorite male character in many of
the films he is in. Oded Fehr has already learned how
to wield a simmilar sword in the mummy movies and he
was spectacular. He deserves to be in a leading role
and Prince of Persia: Sands of Time would be the
perfect time for him to be brought into the spotlight.

OMG Tomb Raider is one of my fav moviess and i think ANGELINA JOLIE did a GREAT job !! and Resident Evil is so kool MILLA JOVOVICH is a great actress

I’ll have to agree with you on the point that a game made into a movie always sounded like bad news to me. the only successful game that was made into a good movie is silent hill because the creators tried thier hardest to stick to the story.
resident evil’s main heroin was more like showing off than acting. I mean, in each and every resident evil movie, an inapproperiate scene where Mila is half naked had to pop up out of no where. it’s disgusting!
I haven’t watched the whole Tomb Riader movie, but I could tell that Lara’s character was ruined
as for silent Hill, true that I found the movie interesting, but it portrayed the monsters in a realistic manner rather than sticking to the psychological ordeal presented in the game.
I sure hope that the creators of this movie would stick to the real plot without ultering it.
and I hope that this Fehr guy won’t get the role cause I don’t wanna hate the prince.

Happy to hear finally the movie is in progress.. i guess the shooting will start from morocco…. Anyways the casting is not set yet, so the big question is the actor playing Prince……In my opinion and Hrithik Roshan ( Indian Superstar ) would fit the role perfectly……. Or on second thoughts Hugh Jackman would be great too… Only hes a bit older considering the prince is pretty young in Sands of time……………..But Hrithink Roshan is perfect……..

I think it is very difficult to make a very good film, then you have a game! I love Prince of Persia and special i love the Trilogy! I can´t image Charlie Clausen or john Abraham in the role of the prince! The actor who plays the prince is the most important person in this film and he is the person who garant succes or not succes on the big screen! I hope it will be a very good actor like Hugh Jackman or eric Bana, but in the firts part of the Trilogy the prince is very young! It could be a problem to find a good authentic actor! But with maka-up and many special effects it could working!! =)

I think the idea of a prince of persia movie is fantastic! I am a big fan of the games and believe it would make a brilliant movie fanchise.
I do have reservations about the idea because i would like it to be a success, but as time as told movies that have made the transition from video games to movies havent been met with the kindest of critisms.
It is too early to worry about what might happen with this movie, im more inclined to believe in the good that will come from this movie, such as how they will make those amazing slow motion rewind movements look when the prince will turn back time to correct his mistakes. And also very important - i want to see the prince run across walls and slide down curtains lol.
