Classic Prince of Persia comes to XBLA

Cover of Prince of Persia: ClassicAs you all should know by now, Prince of Persia is one of the oldest computer game series in existence with the very first Prince of Persia game making it’s debut in 1989.

The classic Prince of Persia game was in instant hit. The quality of animation was one of the best at the time and its game play and storyline, although seemingly repetitive, was interesting enough to captivate its audience.

Classic Prince of Persia is now making a resurgence in 2007 with its release on Xbox Live Arcade (XBLA) on Wednesday, June 13, 2007.

The 2007 version of the classic game has been updated a little. Not to fret, the core game play and feel hasn’t been changed, only the graphics has been given a face lift. The game graphics is now in 3D, including the cut scenes, and the characters have been redrawn like The Sands of Time characters.

A pure classic mode with 2D is missing, but with the new 3D graphics, this is hardly missed.

Prince of Persia: Classic is available on XBLA for 800 Microsoft points (about $10 USD).
